Art reunion

Noted artist Sachin Nath and his students have organised an art exhibition titled 'Prathisandhi' in the memory of legendary artist Raja Ravi Varma's birth anniversary at Sachin Nath's art studio at Mundhwa.

Noted artist Sachin Nath and his students have organised an art exhibition titled ‘Prathisandhi’ in the memory of legendary artist Raja Ravi Varma’s birth anniversary at Sachin Nath’s art studio at Mundhwa. The exhibition will showcase more than 40 works in different mediums –– oil,acrylic,and water colour –– based on a range of subjects by various artists. Among the notable artists are Sumanna Nath De,Gopal Pardeshi,Megha Mohanan,Seema Ghai and Hilda Shoury,among others. Dinkar Thopte,the eminent painter,sculptor and former principal of Abhinav Kala Mahavidhyalay will inaugurate the function at 5.30 pm on April 28. Sandhya Nath will be present as the guest of honour. The exhibition will be held at Nath’s art studio at Kala Shankar Nagar,BT Kawade Road,Mundhwa from April 28 to May 15,from 11 am to 8 pm.

Lear-ing to go

Based on Shakespeare’s King Lear,Rajat Kapoor’s modern-day adaption,with a twist,Nothing Like Lear was staged recently. Held at the Phoenix Marketcity,the event had veteran actor,Vinay Pathak host the monologue. Performing in front of a packed audience,Pathak held their gaze for a long time with his interpretation of the same. Nothing Like Lear was performed for the first time in the city.
