Anu Aga accepts RS seat offer

Former chairperson of city-based Thermax Limited,Anu Aga, recommended for nomination as member of Rajya Sabha on Thursday confirmed via e-mail that she has accepted the offer.

Former chairperson of city-based Thermax Limited,Anu Aga, recommended for nomination as member of Rajya Sabha on Thursday confirmed via e-mail that she has accepted the offer.

Aga had taken over as chairperson of Thermax Limited,a Rs 3,246-crore energy and environment engineering company in 2004,after the sudden demise of her husband Rohinton Aga. She retired in 2004 and took to social work,for which she was awarded Padma Shri in 2010. She is currently chairperson of Teach For India and continues to be on the Board of Directors of Themax.

Aga has done her BA (Economics) from St Xavier’s College in Mumbai and post-graduation in medical and psychiatric social work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences. She was also a Fullbright scholar and had studied in the United States for four months.
