All the World’s a Runway

Try as you might,you can’t keep a stylish woman from her fashion roots for too long. Model Farheen Khan,once a ramp scorcher and a colleague of Mehr Jessia and Madhu Sapre,is one example. Farheen (now Farheen Allsopp) is making big news in her adopted home London for her collaboration with celebrated milliner Philip Treacy. The former Mumbai girl has started a concept called Fashion Exchange along with Sheikha Raya Al-Khalifa,a contributor to Style.com Arabia. Fashion Exchange aims at bringing interesting cross-cultural shows to British museums. It is also supported by VisitBritain. Her first show,called The September Show,takes place at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum on September 5. “This show is about promoting cultural understanding while creating a platform for future collaborations in each others’ countries.” The event promises a high dose of British glamour,with Prince Charles and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani,the emir of Qatar,as hosts.
