The grand finale of Believe It or Not Carnival was held at Koregaon Park Plaza on October 21. The month-long carnival featured music shows,cultural programmes and food festivals as Punekers displayed their talent to compete for world records. City-based illusionist Praveen Pandita, bagged the first prize which is a trip to Ripleys Believe it or Not
museum in London. The visitors at Koregaon Park Plaza gathered around to watch world record holders like Sword Swallower,Kishan Juggler swallow 18 swords and ‘Human Calendar’,Rajeev Kumar amused the crowd with his unusual ability to recall calendars from the entire century.
Dance to the tunes
The Pune Navratri Mahotsav featured a lavani festival on Saturday with several performances by different groups from 12 pm to 10 pm at Shri Ganesh Kala Krida Rangmanch. The groups were led by Aishwarya Badde,Dipti Aaher,Reshma Javlekar,Priyanka Shetty,Shivani,Archana Sawant and Pooja Punekar. They danced to popular lavani numbers such as ‘Apsara Aali’,’Vajle ki bara’ and ‘Ya ravji basa Bhaoji’.
