After Ajit Pawar’s son Parth gets Y plus security, cousin Rohit says ‘Govt wants to protect VIPs and VIP culture’
Parth Pawar is handling the election campaign of his mother, Sunetra Pawar, who will contest from the Baramati Lok Sabha seat against her sister-in-law Supriya Sule.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s son Parth Pawar was on Monday given Y+ security by the state government. According to sources in the NCP, the government took the decision amid the bitter battle being fought in the Baramati Lok Sabha seat between two Pawar families.
”Yesterday, three personnel guarded Parth wherever he went,” a close associate of Parth Pawar said.
NCP spokesperson Umesh Patil, however, dismissed any speculations that Parth has been given Y plus security due to the vitriolic battle being fought in Baramati.
“The state government gives security only after receiving reports from its officials about the threat perception to an individual. Parth is the son of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. He makes various policy decisions which are not liked by some people. Such people might pose a threat to his family members. And that is why as a precautionary step, the government must have taken the step,” said Patil.
Shiv Sena leader Neelam Gorhe said, “The decision has been taken after properly studying the threat perception to Parth Pawar”.
Parth, who did not have any security detail before this, did not respond to calls.
Criticising the Y plus security given to Parth Pawar, his cousin Rohit Pawar, who is from the NCP (SP), said, “Why only Y plus security? Parth Pawar should have been given Z plus security like his father. While the ‘koyta gangs’ are roaming freely and threatening the common man, the state government wants to protect the life of the children of our leaders. This government wants to protect the VIPs and the VIP culture”.
Parth Pawar is handling the election campaign of his mother, Sunetra Pawar, who has been fielded by the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party from the Baramati Lok Sabha seat against her sister-in-law Supriya Sule.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Parth contested from the Maval seat but lost to Shrirang Barne of the undivided Shiv Sena.
