After NCP chief Sharad Pawar had come down heavily on local NCP leaders for not participating in election campaign for congress candidate Suresh Kalmadi.NCP on Tuesday said that guardian minister Ajit Pawar will participate in election campaign for the congress candidate.
The guardian minister will participate in the election rallies for Kalmadi, Ankush Kakade said in a joint press conference of Congress – NCP. Congress spokesperson Satish Desai was present at the press conference.
He further said that,a core team of Congress NCP leaders has been formed for each of the assembly segment in Pune Lok Sabha constituency for the campaigning of the Congress candidate. Last week,NCP chief Sharad Pawar had criticised local NCP leaders for not participating in election campaign of Kalmadi. The NCP chief himself had addressed two rallies in support of Kalmadi and will be addressing more rallies in the coming days.
The local unit of NCP and Congress had been at loggerheads since the civic election in 2007. The NCP is ruling the Pune Municipal Corporation along with Shiv Sena and BJP while the Congress is in opposition.
Meanwhile,Congress leader Balasaheb Shivarkar too has started campaigning for Kalmadi. Shivarkar had claimed party ticket for Pune Lok Sabha seat along with other party leaders
