A full circle

“We try to bring a blend of all our tastes in music to the circle of music we make,thus the name Hoodwink Circle. We were mutual friends who had come together to form this band and so we cannot categorise the kind of music we play or compose,into one genre,” says Krishna. The band plays covers as well as originals at the steady number of gigs it has all over the country. “We try and cover artistes like the Beatles,Red Hot Chilli Peppers,Eric Clapton and a bit of the blues and rock n roll. Our originals are generally songs about our personal experiences,our view of life,the apathetic outlook of other people and also about,yes,a bike. Its great to connect with the audience when we perform onstage because people respond to the music when the musician is enjoying himself,” says Lewis.

The band plans to release its debut album,which is yet to be titled,by the end of the year. Lewis contends,”This is our first album and it has ten of our best songs talking about the way we perceive ourselves as musicians and the way we have grown in the industry in these last three to four years. The fans enjoy our older numbers and we have incorporated those into the album as well.” Speaking about their upcoming gig in the city,Lewis says,”Many of our family members and friends live in Pune and the Cafe has a great sound system so its an absolute delight to play for the audience there. kMoreover,lets face it,Pune has great weather encouraging lots of people to turn up.”
