27 schools in Pimpri get 100% success rate

Schools in Pimpri-Chinchwad and Khadki have once again performed creditably in SSC . In Pimpri-Chinchwad,as many as 27 schools scored cent per cent results.

Schools in Pimpri-Chinchwad and Khadki have once again performed creditably in SSC . In Pimpri-Chinchwad,as many as 27 schools scored cent per cent results. In Khadki,S V S High School and St Thomas Public School got hundred per cent success rates.

The overall result in Pimpri-Chinchwad is 85.04 per cent which dipped two per cent as compared to last year. As many as 15,235 students appeared for the exam in March 2011, of which,13,080 passed.

Girls have performed better than boys registering 90.62 success rate as compared to 88.94 per cent boys.

PCMC-run schools registered an overall pass percentage of 81 which is six per cent less than last year when it recorded 87 per cent. The civic-run Lande school,Bhosari,recorded the lowest success rate of 35.29. Of the 18 civic-run schools,Vidyaniketan School scored cent per cent. “We are satisfied with the result. Civic schools have children from poor and very poor backgrounds,students who have been shunned by other schools. Nearly 2,000 students appeared from our 18 schools and getting 81 per cent is not bad at all,” said PCMC education chief Vishnu Jadhav.

Among the 27 schools in Pimpri-Chinchwad that scored 100 per cent succes rate include SNBP High School,Morwadi (Pimpri),D Y Patil High School,Pimpri, Judson High School,Pimpri,Amrutanandmayi High School,Yamunanagar,Mar Ivanois High School,Gurav Pimple,Nirmal Bethany High School,Kalewadi,Alphonsa High School,Kalewadi,S S Ajmera High School,Pimpri,Vidyananad High School,Geeta Mata High School,Swami Samarth High School,Infant Jesus High School,Wakad,St Ann’s High School,Little Flower High School,Sangvi,Mastermind High School,Sangvi,Geeta Mata High School,Jyoti School,Jog School,Kamal Nayan Bajaj school,Chinchwad and St Urusula school,Akurdi. A few of the schools like the Judson school,D Y Patil School,Nirmal Bethany school and Alphonsa School have consistently been among the schools that have scored cent per cent result. Yeshwantrao Chavan Muk-Badir School,Nigdi,also got 100 per cent success.

In Khadki,S V S High School run by the South Indian Association for the third consecutive time scored a cent per cent result. As many as 91 students appeared for the exam,seven scored over 80 per cent and seven secured over 75 per cent,said Agnes Paul,who took over as principal in September. Akshay Samudra topped the school with 91. 45 per cent marks,followed by Mohd Fayaz with 88 per cent. S V S High School is one of the oldest academic institutions in Khadki,established in 1974. “Our school has turned a new corner. Our academic performance,especially for the past three years,has improved. Consistent hard work and personal attention by all our teachers paid rich dividends.,” said Paul. School president Francis David,who announces huge cash rewards to successful students every year,said,“This year too students have made the school proud. They deserve rewards.”

Across Pune-Mumbai highway,the St Thomas Public School created history. For the 13th consecutive time it saw a 100 per cent success rate. Shubham Agarwal topped with 93.67 per cent. Of the 60 students,30 got distinction and 27 first class. Shivani Nanaware scored 91.46 per cent marks. Aishwarya Shankar and Abhijeet Suryavanshi stood third with 88 per cent. Principal Roshni George said the credit goes to hard work of teachers and students. “It’s team work… year after year,” said George.
