2 held for burglary

The police arrested two persons involved in seven break-ins in Lohegaon,Wadgaon Sheri and Chandan Nagar areas on Wednesday.

The police arrested two persons involved in seven break-ins in Lohegaon,Wadgaon Sheri and Chandan Nagar areas on Wednesday. The accused have been identified as Ishwar Vishnu Kapse (19) and Ganesh Sadashiv Patil (25) — both residents of Lohegaon. “ We have recovered goods worth Rs 88,500 that include five television sets,DVD players,household goods among others,” said Sanjay Jadhav,deputy commissioner of police (DCP),Zone IV,on Wednesday.

According to Airport Road police,they spotted two persons carrying a television set and a DVD player in gunny bags during their regular patrol at 7pm at Kalawade Vasti in Lohegaon. The police took them into custody and interrogated them.

The police raided the house where the duo had kept the stolen goods and recovered the address from there.

A separate incident was reported from nearby Viman Nagar area. Ratanchand Narayandas Mansharamani (73) has lodged a police complaint with Airport police station. Mansharamani was out of India from August 31 last year and returned on Tuesday. On arrival,he found that his cash and wrist watches worth Rs 1.59 lakh were missing from his house.
