2 days after engineer goes missing,cops hunt for clues

Even after two days of rigorous search operation,the police could not trace the 28-year-old engineer Kavita Ishwar Chikhali who had gone missing from the Sinhagad fort on Thursday morning.

Even after two days of rigorous search operation,the police could not trace the 28-year-old engineer Kavita Ishwar Chikhali who had gone missing from the Sinhagad fort on Thursday morning.

The family members and a group of 35 youngsters from Karad in Satara district,the native place of Kavita,accompanied the police team in the search operation on Saturday.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravindra Pardeshi who is leading the search operation said that there was no clue on Kavita’s whereabouts. “The commando squad of Pune rural police was pressed into action. Our teams along with local villagers and trekkers continued searches at Sinhagad fort and surrounding villages. But there is no clue yet,” he said.

Pardeshi said that investigation is also being done considering various possibilities. “We are talking to her family,friends and colleagues to know whether there is some different angle to the case,” he said.

Kavita,a resident of Chandannagar,was an engineer with quality department of Seco Tools Indian Private Limited company in Koregaon Bhima.

She had gone to Sinhagad for trekking along with her colleagues on Thursday early morning. The company was preparing for a trekking competition,for which they had come to Sinhagad. The trek started from Atkarwadi village around 7.30 am on Thursday.

Kavita was seen with the group till they reached Khamkar machi around 7.45 am. After that Kavita fell behind and then disappeared. Her colleagues searched for her till 4 pm,but failed to trace her. They lodged a missing person’s complaint with Haveli police station.
