2 arrested for kidnapping insurance agent

The Deccan Gymkhana police arrested two persons on Friday for kidnapping and beating up an insurance agent following a financial dispute.

Insurance agent Sameer Lad of Ashirwad Apartment in Deccan area was kidnapped and beaten up by Manish Vasant Kulkarni (34) and Nilesh Jagtap (25),both insurance and load agents from Pimple Gurav. The duo was arrested under Sections 323,364(a) of IPC after Sameers father Arvind Lad,lodged a complaint.

Investigation officer sub-inspector U S Yadav said Sameer and his friend Parag Shah of Kalyan had allegedly taken some money from the two with a promise of providing bank loan. They could not fulfill the promise. Around 11.15 am on Thursday,Kulkarni and Jagtap went to Sameers house and called him in the parking of his residential complex. They beat him up and then kidnapped him in a car. They took him to Kalyan in search of his friend Shah but found that Shah had gone to Ahmedabad. They brought Sameer to Pune and dropped him near his house on Thursday. Sameers father lodged a complaint at Deccan Gymkhana police station.
