18-yr-old alleges rape after being drugged

Goes to police after finding out she is pregnant,names 47-year-old woman among two in complaint.

An 18-year-old girl from Bhosari on Sunday lodged a complaint alleging that she was drugged and raped in December 2012 and that she came to know about it recently after finding out she was pregnant.

The victim lodged a complaint at MIDC police station against a 47-year-old woman,identified as Sunita Parshuram Joshi of Pimpri,and an unidentified man.

Police said that Joshi had provided a job to the complainant at a private firm. On December 4,2012,Joshi allegedly took the complainant to a house belonging to a woman named Taydi in Kalewadi.

According to the complaint,Joshi served lunch laced with sedatives to the victim due to which she lost consciousness. Then a man,allegedly known to Joshi,raped the girl sometime between 1pm and 4 pm.

Police said after regaining consciousness,the victim complained of pain but the suspect told her to ignore it. However,as the victim approached a doctor later,she came to know that she was pregnant and hence lodged a complaint.

Police admitted the victim to Sassoon Hospital to conduct tests on her. Assistant police inspector Bhoir said that the search for Joshi is on.
