14-yr-old boy held for raping minor

The city police arrested a 14-year-old boy on Thursday for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl in Yamunanagar in Nigdi. On Friday,the boy was produced in the juvenile court that sent him to remand home.

According to the complaint registered by the girl’s mother,the boy,a resident of a housing society in Yamunanagar,took the girl behind a building in the society when she was playing. He allegedly raped her and also beat her up when she started crying. On hearing her cry,her mother inquired after which the crime came to light.

Sharad Ugale,senior police inspector with Nigdi police,said,“The boy stays in the block next to the one where the girl’s family stays. We have charged him under Sections 376 and 323 of the Indian Penal Code for rape and voluntarily hurting the girl.” Police sub-inspector P B Jadhav is investigating the case.
