Work to recover CCTV footage on

The Mumbai Police Crime Branch on Sunday recorded more statements in the Mantralaya fire case.

The Mumbai Police Crime Branch on Sunday recorded more statements in the Mantralaya fire case. The police are also trying to recover contents of the hard disk containing CCTV footage of the structure. Crime Branch sources said the hard disk had got wet during firefighting and recovery work was on.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Himanshu Roy said the police had recorded statements of several persons present on the fourth floor when the fire broke out. “We have recorded statements of such persons in the case and will record those of more. Our work is to speak to those who were there during the fire to ascertain if this was an accidental fire or not,” said Roy.

Roy said the Crime Branch would go through the CCTV footage. “Once recovery of the date on the hard disk is done,we will go through it. Our investigation is on,” he added.
