The Bombay High Court on Wednesday declined to interfere in the Dahi Handi festivities scheduled to take place on Thursday stating it is too late to pass any order in this regard.
The court was hearing a petition filed by a Thane-based doctor who argued that the festival causes noise pollution and disruption of traffic. The court,however,said that the Supreme Court guidelines can be followed in the case. Meanwhile,the court said authorised hawkers can be allowed to do business during the Bandra fair after the BMC assured the court that it will remove illegal hawkers during the fair.
