On Friday, around 5.30 pm,Priyankas elder sister Rita Tayade, who had been staying with her for a few days, had gone to a nearby garden with her child. When she returned an hour later, she saw the door to the flat ajar. In her statement,Rita said she rushed into the house and saw Priyankas body hanging from the ceiling.
She,along with neighbours, rushed Priyanka to a hospital where she was declared brought dead.
Senior Police Inspector Shirish Shelke said: Digamber, who returned to Mumbai on Saturday, said his daughter was depressed since November 23. The depression could be because she was unable to achieve her goals and succeed in her boxing career.
