Watchman jumps off sixth floor, dies

A security guard committed suicide by jumping from the sixth floor of a building.

The police have identified the deceased as Kishor Kumar Kanojia, a watchman, who took the extreme step at around 6.30 pm on Saturday evening.

He was admitted to the R N Cooper hospital in Juhu on Friday as he had fever, said Dr Sitaram Gawde, medical superintendent at the hospital.

“Kanojia succumbed to his injuries after he jumped. We are still trying to determine what spurred him to end his life,” said Abhay Shastri, senior police inspector, Juhu police station.

Karojia’s body was sent for post-mortem later in the evening. Police have registered a case of accidental death in this regard.
