Two passengers held at airport

The Air Intelligence Unit of the Customs intercepted a passenger,Ziauddin Khan,on Tuesday for not declaring goods worth Rs 11,26,000 at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport.

The Air Intelligence Unit of the Customs intercepted a passenger,Ziauddin Khan,on Tuesday for not declaring goods worth Rs 11,26,000 at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport.

According to Additional Commissioner of Customs,B S Nunwal,the unit seized various commodities like music players,imitation jewellery and spy cameras from Khan. The unit registered a case against another passenger for possessing electronic goods worth Rs 14 lakh,said Nunwal. In the both the cases,the department has seized the goods under the provisions of the Customs Act (1962) and the passengers’ statements were recorded under Section 108 of the Customs Act.
