The demand came during the Attention Motion moved by Gorkhe in the State Legislative Council on Wednesday. Two men died and one seriously injured after a two-wheeler they were travelling on skidded near a lake at Gorai in Mumbai on Tuesday morning.
Preliminary inquiry indicated that the trio, who had gone on a trip, were drunk when they met with an accident. However, the police are awaiting their blood test report.
According to police sources, Shivam Sahu, (27) Riyan Chaudhary, (27), and Dinesh Tevar (25), are all residents of the Antop Hill area of Mumbai.
They had gone to Gorai for a trip. On Monday morning, while the three were allegedly riding triple-seat on the scooter, they met with an accident on Uttan Road near Kumar Residency, the police said.
The rider had lost control over their two-wheeler after the vehicle allegedly slipped and skidded on the wet road, crashing into an electric pole, after which the three fell down.
All three suffered serious injuries. When passerbys rushed them to Tembha hospital in Bhayander, Sahu and Chaudhary were declared dead, while Tevar’s condition is said to be critical.
Police suspect the trio were drunk at the time of the accident and have sent their blood samples for testing.
The Gorai police are further investigating the matter. Police are checking if any CCTV of any hotel or resort or store captured the accident or any person witnessed the incident itself.
