Tunnel repair leads to water cut,clinics hit

According to a senior official at Nair Hospital,about 40-50 operations were postponed due to water scarcity. “We have issued a circular to all hospitals that no operation or treatment should be delayed for lack of water. All civic hospitals should ask for tankers if the need arises,” said Manisha Mhaiskar,Additional Municipal Commissioner.

Cuffe Parade,Colaba,Nariman Point,Backbay Reclamation,Fort,Churchgate,Malabar Hill,Peddar Road,Tardeo,Grant Road had no water supply on Monday,while Prabhadevi,Parel,Worli and Dadar faced 25 per cent water cut. “Areas in Santacruz,Bandra-Kurla Complex,Bandra,Khar and Jogeshwari faced water crunch due to low pressure,” said officials. On Tuesday and Thursday,there will be water cuts in areas such as Kalbadevi,CP Tank,Girgaum,Thakurdwar,Mumbai Central,Khetwadi,Tardeo and Babulnath. The entire G ‘north’ and G ‘south’ wards along with Santacruz (east),Bandra-Kurla Complex,Bandra,Khar and Santacruz (west) will face 25 per cent water cut on all four days starting from Monday,” said the official.

100 pc water cut

There will be 100 per cent water cut on Monday and Wednesday in areas of south Mumbai such as Cuffe Parade,Colaba,Nariman Point,Backbay Reclamation,Fort,Churchgate,Marine Lines and Marine Drive,Malabar Hill,Peddar Road,Carmicheal Road,BD Road and Forjet Street. Areas in south central Mumbai such as Senapati Bapat Marg,Sayani Road,Prabhadevi,Janata Colony,Elphinstone Road,BDD Chawl,parts of Lower Parel,will face a 25 per cent cut from Monday to Thursday.
