Train services to hit on Sunday

Train commuters are likely to be inconvenienced on Sunday as both the Western Railway (WR) and Central Railway (CR) will operate mega blocks on certain portions of the suburban section. The WR will have a five-hour block between Santacruz and Goregaon stations on the up and down slow lines to carry out maintenance work of tracks,signalling and overhead equipment. The block will be operated from 11 am to 4 pm. Similarly,CR will operate a mega block on the up harbour line between Kurla and CST and on the up and down harbour lines between Wadala Road and Mahim stations. The block will also be operated between 11am and 4 pm.

Cops to set up a cancer shelter home

In an unusual move,the Mumbai Police will start a cancer shelter near Naigaon police hospital. Police commissioner Arup Patnaik on Friday said a 35-room,fully air-conditioned shelter is expected to be functional from next month and will be inaugurated by Governor K Sankaranarayanan.
