Traffic diversions will be put in place in view of the extra rush on roads on New Years eve from from 6 pm on December 31 to 6 am on January 1. The PJ Ramchandani Marg,Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Marg and Adam Street will be closed to vehicles. BEST Marg,Arthur Bunder Road and Henry Road will also be closed to vehicular traffic between P J Ramchandani Marg and Merry Weather Road.
Maharshi Karve Road (Queens Road) will be closed for North-bound traffic at the junction with Nathalal Parekh Marg to Godrej Junction. Cooperage Road will be closed to south-bound traffic from Ambedkar Statue junction to Buckley Court junction. BEST Marg from Nathalal Parekh Marg Buckley Court junction to P Ramchandani Marg will be closed to east-bound traffic.
Parking restrictions will be imposed on P J Ramchandani Marg,BEST Marg,Arthur Bunder Road,Henry Road,Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Marg,Adam Street and Shahid Bhagat Singh Road (Colaba Causeway) from Regal Circle to its junction with Arthur Bunder Road.
Motorists going to Hilton Towers NCPA and Nariman Point are advised to use Nariman Point complex internal routes from Mantralaya junction as no vehicles will be allowed on Derabji Tata Road. Motorists going to south Mumbai from the eastern suburbs are advised to use B A Road,J J Flyover or P DMello Road, said a traffic police official.
The traffic police will deploy 250 officials and 2,600 personnel on the roads to ensure smooth traffic.
