Third Front will sit in Opposition

The Republican Left Democratic Front (RLDF),with a strength of 16 in the Assembly – 12 winners from among constituent parties and four Independents supported by the Front – will sit in Opposition rather than back the Congress-NCP alliance. The elected legislators will meet on Tuesday in Mumbai,said Front leaders Ramdas Athavale and N D Patil.

The victorious RLDF candidates are Meenakshi Patil,Vivek Patil,Dhairyasheel Patil,Ganpatrao Deshmukh. Abu Asim Azmi,Rashid Tahir Momin,Sharad Gavit,Babasaheb Patil,Bharat Bhalke,Rajaram Ozare and Bacchu Kadu. RLDF-supported Independents Ravi Rana,Suresh Deshmukh ,Dilip Sopal and Shirish Choudhari have also won.
