Gillo Theatre Repertory is back with its annual Drama Club and,this year,it is bigger. The group that works exclusively for Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) will bring the club to Kandivili for the fourth time,and will open at Bandra for the first time.

Gillo,a children’s media group based in Mumbai since 2009,has produced plays written and designed for children such as Suar Chala Space Ko (2010),Kyun Kyun Ladki (2011),Hanuman Ki Ramayan (2012),Taoos Chaman Ki Myna (2013) and Mister Jeejeebhoy and the Birds (2013).

Drama Club was set up in 2010 with the aim of sensitising young children about live performance and theatre. Drama Club 2013-14,spread over six months,will have a maximum of 20 participants who will attend 12 sessions. The activities at the club will

include mime and movement,basic creative writing,improvisation games,poetry appreciation,a visit to a

theatre,puppetry,mask making,storytelling,costume and set making.

The workshop,to be conducted in Hindi and English,will be held from August 2013 to January 2014 every second and fourth Saturday/ Sunday of the month.
