Teachers form group to get problems addressed

These are teachers who teach courses such as Bachelor of Mass Media,Bachelor of Management Studies,BSc-IT,and B.Com in accountancy and finance. The teachers said there are no proper norms or guidelines about the appointment,promotion,salary increment of teachers for unaided courses.

Another member Prof Ketan Vira,from Guru Nanak College at GTB Nagar,said,“There are no proper and uniform guidelines for teachers teaching unaided course. We have formed this group to make our voice heard.”

The group was formed in a meeting held on Saturday,which was attended by around 50 teachers from different colleges in the city. However the group will be meeting again on October 19 to decide their further course of action. Vira added,“The problems faced by the teachers teaching unaided courses often go unnoticed. If we approach the government and college administration,our complaints are ignored. Our aim is to highlight these issues through the association.”

They plan to extend their group across the state.
