With the increasing prominence of Aaditya Thackerays presence in Shiv Sena campaign literature and rallies,MNS chief Raj Thackeray too got his two children to add some additional value to his campaign trails. Thackerays son,22-year-old Amit,and 17-year-old daughter Urvashi,along with wife Sharmila,accompanied him on his rally from Dahisar to Bandra on Sunday,covering 45 corporator wards. MNS MLA from Borivali-Dahisar Prakash Darekar said that for the first time Thackeray had got his children out on a political rally. He said,It was nice to see the children support their father.

A slumdwellers manifesto

The Medha Patkar-led Ghar Bachao Ghar Banao Aandolan will release a slumdwellers manifesto for the upcoming polls at a function in Azad Maidan on Monday. Stating that participation in the polls is important for the movement seeking housing rights for the poor,representatives of the organisation said candidates and leaders of various political parties will attend a large gathering of slumdwellers at Azad Maidan on Monday to discuss their views on the issue of affordable housing in Mumbai.

Corporators yet to return BMC laptops

Its time to elect new Corporators for Mumbai,but over a hundred sitting Corporators of BMC have yet to return the laptops given to them by the civic body two years ago. Of the total 232,only 106 corporators have returned the laptops till now,BMC officials said.
