A Loksatta-Yashasvi Bhava book distribution programme was held at TMC Hall in Kisan Nagar-Wagle Estate,Thane (West). The programme was to distribute Loksatta- Yashasvi Bhava books to standard 10th students. The books were sponsored by MLA of Thane Eknath Shinde. Around 1,200 students benefited.
Students of TMC School 1,Padwal Vidyalaya,M.K. Nakhwa High School,TMC School 5 and Sant Asaram Bapu Vidyalaya benefited. Mr Shinde said: Yashasvi Bhava is the key to your success. This is the best book Loksatta has come up with and I am sure it will help all students taking the ssc board exam. It is my pleasure that Loksatta has given me an opportunity to be part of the drive. I promise I will help students from economically weaker backgrounds.
Youphoria 2012 interschool competition students of Sarvajanik Shikshan Sansthas Lokmanya Tilak English High School,Mulund (West),participated in Youphoria 2012 interschool competition organised by B.S.K.B. Association on 30th September 2012 in Vashi,Navi Mumbai.
Our students participated in all contests singing,elocution,quiz and creative writing.
Sanika Sameer Khadkikar from Std. VIII-C won the first prize in elocution in Mumbai district. She spoke on Technology Curse or boon.
The headmistress of Lokmanya Tilak English High School congratulated her on the achievenment.
Vivek V. Deshpande,chairman of Lokmanya Tilak English High School,congratulated Sanika. He said more students should take part in such competitions. He congratulated staff and parents for putting in so much effort for development of children.
Science exhibition at Vidyaniketan English School
A Science exhibition was held on 18th October 2012 in Vidyaniketan English School by students of Std. VIII.
Students made models of periscope,solar system and space debris,plant cell,animal cell,and specimens of parrot,amoeba,Bombay Duck,rohu and types of magnets.
Our school general secretary T. Ravindran appreciated the effort and encouraged students to be more innovative.
Laxmibai Junior college celebrates Green Day
Laxmibai Junior College,Mulund,celebrated Green Day as part of the Navratri festival organised by its Nature Club The Green Explorer. The colour green stands for environment and greenery. The students wanted to spread the message Go green and conserve the environment. They interacted and expressed their views on environment-related issues.This day was celebrated on Thursday,18th October. The junior college staff supported the students in this green mission. Junior college in charge Pooja Kulkarni applauded the effort and said such days will make GenNext more environment-conscious.
Dada Vaswanis visit:
A day to cherish 21st October,2012,will be cherished as a memorable day in the hearts and minds of the staff and students of Sadhu Vaswani International School.
It was the day when the charismatic Dada Vaswani visited the institution after three years. Dada J.P. Vaswani was welcomed by the head boy and head girl accompanied by the school band. This was followed by the traditional tilak ceremony and a bhajan by pre-primary and primary students.
Later,the revered Dada J.P .Vaswani formally inaugurated the school auditorium. The proceedings of the day began with a PowerPoint presentation on infrastructure,activities and achievements of the school. The next programme which caught everyones attention was formations of Lotus,Chariot and Sheshnag and Dashavtars of Lord Vishnu that left the audience mesmerised.
The tiny tots were not to be left behind as they conveyed the message of sharing and caring. Dadas belief in kindness and justice to animals was reaffirmed by the skit Prem se humko jeenedo.
We believe in Dada,we belong to him,we worship him. This beautifully rendered song touched Dadas heart.
Principal Mangala Chandrashekar gave the welcome address wherein she spoke of the schools motto Courage,character and compassion and emphasized on providing education that would bring about holistic development of students. She proudly informed that the school had been recently affiliated to I.C.S.E board and would be having its first batch of Std X in 2014. The next dignitary who spoke was Manju Nichani,principal of K. C. College and secretary of Sadhu Vaswani Education Trust. She thanked donors Shoba and Chandru Budrani for their valuable contributions in making the auditorium a reality.
The day was made by Dadas motivating speech. He said what our country needs more today are men and women of character.
