Havan at Ram Ratna Vidya Mandir

A new year — a new beginning. After the cherished summer vacations,students and teachers look forward to the first day of school,undertaking new challenges.

Ram Ratna Vidya Mandir,known for imparting quality education,reopened on June 1. The school aspires to develop socially conscious citizens of tomorrow providing enlightened leadership in all walks of life. The management of Ram Ratna Vidya Mandir is committed to spreading great values enshrined in the Vedas. They also know that values cannot be taught; they have to be imbibed. So,the management not only preaches but also practises what it wants to preach.

It is said that well begun is half-done. On this note,the academic session 2013-14 at Ram Ratna Vidya Mandir commenced in a traditional way with Saraswati pooja and havan. The pooja and havan were performed by resident priest and Sanskrit teacher K K Pandey. Students from Std IV to Std XII along with the principal,vice-principal and staff took part in this pooja.

The pooja was conducted not only in accordance with Vedic principles,but also with a contemporary twist. The meaning of mantras,kalash and the items (samagri) used in the pooja was explained to the students. Humorous and contemporary examples,instead of mundane explanations,were the order of the day.

Energised by the spiritual atmosphere,chanting mantras and taking a vow to work with a new zeal,accomplishing new ventures,achieving greater and new heights,working together to achieve excellence,the staff and the students marched ahead with the blessings of Goddess Saraswati.
