Hours after attack on Saif Ali Khan, accused caught on CCTV buying mobile phone cover outside Dadar railway station

Saif Ali Khan Attacker New CCTV Footage: The man who allegedly attacked actor Saif Ali Khan inside his residence in Bandra roamed around Dadar in central Mumbai hours after the incident and even purchased a mobile phone cover from a shop, the police team investigating the case have concluded after tracking the intruder’s movements.

Sources in the police department said that after being spotted in the Lucky Junction area in Bandra, the accused likely boarded a local train, travelled to Dadar, purchased a mobile phone cover from a shop named IKRA near platform 1 of Dadar (West) railway station, walked outside the Suvidha showroom, and headed towards Kabutarkhana.

The accused’s movements have been recorded on the CCTV camera at the mobile shop at 9.04 am, sources added. The police may record the statement of the person who sold the phone cover to the accused.

The Mumbai police have intensified their hunt for the accused who has not been caught more than 50 hours after the attack on Khan.

The accused, believed to be in his early 30s, snuck into Khan’s 11th-floor apartment between 2 am and 2.30 am on Thursday, allegedly demanded Rs 1 crore, injured the family’s nanny, and later attacked Khan with a knife six times before escaping.

Khan, who bled profusely, was rushed to Lilavati Hospital in an autorickshaw, where he underwent surgery. Senior doctors say he is stable and out of danger.

The police have already recorded the statement of Khan’s wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and other staff present at the crime scene who witnessed the attack.

More than two dozen police teams are working on the case from different angles and are putting efforts into nabbing the culprit, a police officer said.
