Bigg Boss 19 contestant Amaal Mallik recalls losing out on work after he exposed Bollywood’s reality: ‘People have misunderstood me’

He added, “I am not affected by losing out on work. Whenever I am removed from films or I don’t feel the right vibe, I take a backseat. When 2-3 producers fire me from big films, I happily go on a holiday, and I don’t take these things to heart.”

Amaal Mallik also shared that he wants people to recognize his face and mentioned how he is often mistaken for another celebrity. “I want the people who have loved my music for the past 10 years to know the person behind it. I want my face to be associated with my music and the body of work I’ve created. People should recognize that it’s Amaal Mallik — not Armaan Mallik or Aditya Roy Kapur,” the Bigg Boss 19 contestant shared.

He added, “Whenever I wear a beanie, people mistake me for Aditya Roy Kapur. If I grow my beard, they think I’m Arjun Kapoor. When I lose weight, some confuse me with Vicky Kaushal, and if I grow my hair, they assume I’m Ranveer Singh. There’s a lot of confusion!”

Stating that diplomacy is not a very strong trait in his personality, Amaal said, “They know my music, but they don’t know my habits, my vibe, or what I think. What gets conveyed in the media sometimes forms a different image. I don’t have the traits of subtlety or diplomacy in me, but in the game, I will put forward my identity in a very non-aggressive manner.”

On his relationships, family, and friends

A few months ago, Amaal Mallik made headlines after publicly breaking ties with his family; however, he has since clarified that everything is fine between them now. Talking about how he manages relationships, Amaal said, “I am good at keeping relationships. If I didn’t feel emotions, I wouldn’t have been able to deliver the music I have. I am prepared for the show. There is a battle at every front; how you play in it makes the world see the difference between the king and the cavalry. But I will miss my time with my father. We meet every day, and jam. I will remember my mom a lot. Armaan is not here; he is in London doing a few shows, so I couldn’t tell him bye.”

He also shared whether he has followed the show in the past and is friends with any ex-contestants. “I am very close to Jasmine and Aly, and I have seen their season and the Sidharth Shukla-Shehnaaz Gill season. A lot of people will see my different vibe this time. I love Sidharth Shukla, god bless him.”
