Rly employee commits suicide

A Railway chief reservation officer posted at Kurla station committed suicide at his residence in the Byculla Railway Quarters on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Sanjeev Savji (49). The police have found a suicide note that said Savji was “tired of life because of cancer.” The J J Marg police said the incident took place around 12.30 pm.

“Savji was at home with his wife and two children. He went to the bedroom of their apartment and did not come out for a while. When his wife went to check,she found him hanging from the ceiling,” said senior police inspector Rajesh Dhanawade.

Dhanawade said Savji was taken to hospital but was declared dead on arrival. The police found a suicide note Savji had addressed to his wife.
