It isn’t often that your gastronomic proclivities collide with your artistic sensibilities. The Thaali Lunch at The Princess Room,Taj Mahal Palace and Tower, yesterday, organised by Aparajita Jain,Gunjan Gupta and Feroze Gujral of ‘Cultivate’,an organisation protecting and showcasing India’s century-old cultural base, was one such event. Chhaya Momaya,in a rather antiquated-looking sheath, played the gracious co-host. Curator Janice Blackburn presented Gupta’s award-winning ‘Dinner Stack’—a contemporary design project that explores cooking, serving and storing traditions within the Indian culture. Guests nibbling on the sumptuous spread of Bajre ka khichdi,kadhi,mini-stuffed kulchas and chicken biryani included Tasmeen Mehta,Pheroza Godrej,Zarine Khan,Farah Khan Ali,Poonam Talwar,Mamtha Dalal,Indu Shahani,Meena and Ekta Raheja.

Bummer We know that history often inspires fashion but seeing Farah calling dibs on the Roman toga,we wish she’d just let bygones be bygones.
