Rave party: Court rejects bail pleas of two DJs

A special NDPS court on Saturday rejected the anticipatory bail application moved by DJs Deepesh Sharma and Rakesh Sharma in an alleged rave party busted by the Mumbai Police on May 20. The court observed that investigations were on and they could not be granted bail. The two have been given a relief of seven days so that they can approach the Bombay High Court.

The prosecution had informed the court that the two would be charged for both consumption as well as possession of psychotropic substances.

The Mumbai Police had raided Oakwood Hotel in western Mumbai’s Juhu area on May 20 and detained 92 persons.

Blood and urine samples of 44 out of 46 people had tested positive for drugs.
