Claiming that the police has enough evidence against arrested journalist Jigna Vora, the prosecution filed its reply in her bail application.

Vora, who has been arrested in connection with the murder of senior journalist J Dey has been behind bars for over five months. Vora had earlier this year moved the Special MCOCA court for bail.

The prosecution in its reply claimed that her role is of serious nature and bail cannot be granted in such a crime. Vora had allegedly provided vital information on Dey’s whereabouts and movements to underworld don Chota Rajan. Vora, along with 10 others, had allegedly conspired to murder Dey in July last year.

Vora,in her bail application, claimed she has no role to play in the murder and has been wrongly implicated.

As per the the 3,055-page chargesheet,Vora, who was Deputy Chief of Bureau of The Asian Age,had instigated the overseas-based underworld don to kill Dey due to professional rivalry. The chargesheet has statements of reporters to whom Rajan allegedly spoke to soon after the incident.

Dey,who worked with city-based tabloid Mid-Day,was shot dead in suburban Powai on June 11 last year. The police have also arrested 10 others — Rohee Thangappan Joseph alias Satish Kalya,Abhijeet Shinde,Arun Dake,Sachin Gaikwad,Anil Waghmode,Nilesh Shendge,Mangesh Agawane,Vinod Asrani,Paulson Joseph and Deepak Sisodia.
