Home Minister R R Patil on Wednesday said the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) cover being provided to Ajmal Kasab at the Arthur Road Jail will be replaced by the Maharashtra Police. The announcement comes after the ITBP sent a bill of Rs 10 crore for the security provided since 2009. The ITPB was deployed in the jail where a special court conducted the trial and convicted Kasab. I have ordered the DG Police to replace ITBP security with Maharashtra Police personnel, said Patil,speaking to reporters on Wednesday. R K Bhatia,Director General of ITBP,whose 200 commandos provide 24-hour security to Kasab,had raised the bill for reimbursement of expenses incurred between March 28,2009,and September 30,2010.
