The real estate agents starting from January this year are required to obtain certification from RERA to become registered agents. They have to first take a 20-hour training programme. The next step is to go for an online examination. Various institutions have been identified for the training programme, said the MahaRERA official.

In fact, two exams were already conducted and the first result was 96% and second was 92%. Third exam will be held soon. Moreover, the online examination process will remain continuous as those who wish to make their career in the real estate sector will have an opportunity, added the official.

This certification ensures that agents are knowledgeable about RERA rules and regulations and can provide accurate and truthful information to buyers.

Apart from new agents, those who were already registered with MahaRERA without certification, as well as staff members working with property developers engaged in the same role as agents, have until January 1, 2024, to provide their certificates of trained professionals.
