NCP chalks out plan for session, MLC seats

Senior NCP leaders held a closed-door meet in Pune to discuss strategies to counter Opposition attacks during the Mosoon Session and plans for election to three seats in the Legislative Council.

Senior NCP leaders held a closed-door meet in Pune to discuss strategies to counter Opposition attacks during the Mosoon Session and plans for election to three seats in the Legislative Council.

NCP chief Sharad Pawar,Deputy CM Ajit Pawar,PWD Minister Chhagan Bhujbal,Rural Development Minister Jayant Patil,Home Minister R R Patil,NCP state president Madhukar Pichad,Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anil Deshmukh and Water Resources Minister Sunil Tatkare attended the meet at Old Circuit House.

While Pawar refused to speak to reporters,Bhujbal said,“The agenda was to devise a strategy for the three MLC seats. We received over 70 names,but the list is yet to be finalised. Pichad will declare the names in Mumbai soon.”
