Nagpur violence: CM Devendra Fadnavis vows to ‘dig out from their graves’ those behind attacks
The chief minister said the situation now was back to normal and peaceful. The police are investigating the incident, he added.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday promised to “dig out from their graves” all those who attacked the police during the violence in Nagpur.
Speaking in the state legislative assembly, Fadnavis said, “All those who were responsible and attacked the police will be dealt with firmly. If necessary, we will dig the graves to nab the culprits.”
The chief minister said the situation now was back to normal and peaceful. The police are investigating the incident, he added.
On his earlier remark that the violence was pre-planned, he said, “There is no difference in what I have said and that of the city police commissioner. The Nagpur commissioner of police has said they are verifying if the violence was pre-planned. They have not yet arrived at a conclusion. I have not said anything different. After all, when I make a statement here in assembly it is also based on the information from the police head.”
Taking serious note of the vandalism and attack on the police, Fadnavis said, “It will be taken up very seriously and acted upon. We will dig the graves and nab those responsible for the violence. And ensure strictest punishment.”
The chief minister, who hails from Nagpur, said, “The city has always maintained communal harmony. After the 1992 riots there have been no such incidents. There is a strong reason to believe that the violence was orchestrated.”
Some people deliberately forwarded messages containing false rumours to incite communal disturbance, he alleged, adding that only a replica of Aurangzeb’s tomb was burnt during the protest.
