MVA distributes tasks for INDIA meeting, Raut to handle war room

From transport to accomodation and from reception to war room, the three parties of the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) have distributed responsibilities among themselves to prepare for the two-day long third meeting of nationwide Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) scheduled on August 31 and September 1.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut will be handling the war room for this meeting. “The war room will look after the preparations and handle any issues — be it logistical or security wise, arising during the event,” said a Congress leader, who is part of the preparations.

While former CM Uddhav Thackeray’s Sena has made the booking arrangements for the guests arriving for the meeting, which include chief ministers of different states as well as top national leaders, former Congress MP Milind Deora is in charge of alloting that accomodation as well as ensuring that all guests are treated at par.

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Sharad Pawar is in charge of transportation of senior leaders in the city from the airport and return.

Thackeray will host all opposition front leaders for dinner on August 31. The dinner will be mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food with special Marathi food items such as puran poli, alu wadi, shrikhanda will be offered to the guests. Congress will host the lunch on September 1.

Congress leaders will be at the airport’s terminals T1, T2 as well as gate number 8 to receive leaders. Former Mumbai Congress chief Sanjay Nirupam is in charge of these operations who will be joined by former Congress MLA Madhu Chavan, former minister Aslam Sheikh among others.

All three parties recently held a meeting with Mumbai police commissioner to discuss security for the event. Leader of the Opposition in the legislative Assembly and Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar along with the NCP leaders is holding talks with government departments for the smooth functioning of the event.

Every guest’s car will be with a leader from one of the three parties of the MVA who will be their guide for those two days, if they decide to travel in the city.
