Mumbai: 3 held for stripping and beating up 3 men, giving electric shock to one

The three victims were property agents who had gone to visit a site in Andheri.

Assuming that they were informers clicking pictures to trouble them in the future, they took the victims to a nearby shop, stripped them and beat them up, while filming the act, police said adding that one of the victims was also given minor electric shock using a hand held battery.

Three men have been arrested for allegedly stripping three others, beating them up with a stick and giving electric shock to one of them for allegedly clicking pictures of their properties on October 19, police said.

According to personnel of DN Nagar police station, the accused mistook them as informers collecting information for extortion.
The three victims were property agents who had gone to visit a site in Andheri. While they were clicking pictures of the site, they were confronted by the accused, who are the owners of the site.

A video of the incident was widely shared on social media in which the accused are seen abusing and threatening the victims. The person who was given electric shock was taken to Cooper Hospital where his condition worsened. Next day, he approached the police and filed a complaint.

Based on the complaint, on October 20, police arrested the three accused — Sattar Turaq, Aziz Turaq and Faruq Turaq, charging them under sections 118(1), 126(2), 127(2), 129, 352, 351(2), 3(5) of Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and 66(E) of the Information Technology Act.
They were produced in the court and were remanded in police custody for five days.
