Mayor hires PA for image makeover

Following a series of negative publicity,Mayor Shraddha Jadhav seems to have found a new way of brand building. She has recently appointed an official as her personal assistant,who will be helping her with an image makeover. The officer on special duty (OSD),Anil Trivedi,who has earlier been the OSD for Shiv Sena strongman Manohar Joshi,said his plans are to streamline the entire process of making Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) related information accessible to the mayor and through her office to the media.

“The current flow of information in BMC needs to rearranged. The Mayor needs to have better access and her improvement plans for the city need to be communicated well. I am preparing a detailed press note about the three-month zero garbage drive,which the mayor has proposed,” he said.

Even as the administration claims the mayor has a dedicated and capable staff,the mayor had insisted the official be brought in to improve the working at her office. This official will overlook all the official communication between mayor and others,co-ordinate meetings and handle public relations with the media and others.

“The current staff was not able to handle communication or meetings properly. Even when they were told to organise and co-ordinate meetings with ward officials,they would not do it properly. It is high time that these things are brought in order,” said Jadhav.
