Two fire incidents were reported in Mumbai on Saturday, officials said adding that no casualties were reported in these incidents.

The first incident was reported residential building in south Mumbai’s Marine lines around 12.40 pm, according to the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) officials.

“The fire erupted in the second floor of the six-storied building and was confined within that area. The residents were evacuated and no injury was reported,” said an he official.

A video of the incident, which was circulated on social media, shows the building being engulfed by a thick blanket of smoke, as the fire was being doused by authorities. A total of five fire engines and five jumbo tankers were deployed for a fire-fighting operation and the blaze was extinguished by around 2.30 pm.

The second incident was reported at a 13-storeyed hotel near the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA).

The civic authorities had deployed three fire engines and one mini water tanker for the fire-fighting operation.

“The flames were confined within AC ducts and electrical wiring of the third floor. Since it was a hotel, it didn’t take long to bring the fire under control as the internal fire prevention system prevented the blaze from getting spread,” said officials.
