Man gets life term for raping minor

A sessions court Saturday convicted Mohammed Farid Sheikh (30) of Mahim for the abduction and rape of an 11-year-old girl in 2011 and sentenced him to life imprisonment. The court also sentenced his aide Mohammed Ismail Sheikh (40) to three years imprisonment for criminal intimidation of the victim’s family.

According to the prosecution,Farid,an alleged history-sheeter,and Ismail,on April 22,2011,barged into the victim’s house in Mahim and had assaulted her brother and uncle. While family members of the victim took the two injured to a nearby hospital,the accused allegedly returned to the house with a chopper. They kidnapped the victim and took her to a nearby slum where Farid raped her.
