Man dies after falling into pit

A 22-year-old man died after falling into a pit at the construction site of a school at Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) building in Chandivali during on Wednesday. Sameer Khan,a construction labourer,fell into the 12-ft deep pit that was filled with water. The pit was dug for the foundation of the school that is being built for SRA near the Sangharshanagar slum settlement along a hillock. After the construction,the school will be handed over to BMC for classes. Khan lost consciousness after falling into the pit. He was rescued by fire brigade officials was rushed to Rajawadi Hospital,Ghatkopar. He was declared dead on admission.
