LIVE: Western Railway resumes services, but Mumbai braces for more rain tomorrow
Heavy rains in Mumbai are predicted by the IMD all through Friday. Schools have been ordered to remain shut today.

Heavy, continuous rains lashed Mumbai on Thursday night leading to water-logging and affecting rail services in several parts of the city. Municipal Commissioner Ajoy Mehta has asked schools to remain shut on Friday due to heavy showers. The Mumbai University has also postponed all theory and practical examinations due to heavy rains.
Federation of Retail Traders Welfare Association president Viren Shah has claimed that there was a Rs 500-crore loss to businesses during the day as most shops in the city were shut. “Only about a fifth of the staff turned up and there were no customers. About 80 per cent of the shops downed shutters within a few hours,” he said. There have been many complaints of flooding of shops in low lying aread of Parel, Dadar Nana Chowk and Grant Road.
