As the Mumbai Police started attaching properties of tainted Congress leader Kripashankar Singh, his namesake in Nashik, who is a transport professional, underwent mental anguish for no fault on his part.
Kripashankar Singh had bought a plot, measuring around 5,000 sq feet in Chunchale-Shivar,near Satpur industrial area. Talking to reporters on Monday,he said he had registered the plot in the name of Raghukul Education Society on January 10,2008,as he wanted to start an educational institute there.
After the Mumbai Police launched a probe into the properties owned by the Congress leader and his family as part of its investigation into a disproportionate assets case, the local media reported that the former state minister owns land in Nashik also, citing the Chunchale-Shivar plot.
However, inquiries with the revenue office at Satpur revealed that the plot is owned by Kripashankar Nandkishor Singh, who is in no way related to the former Mumbai Congress president. The transport professional himself had to appear before the media and clear the air. Interestingly,it has come to light that a dozen people called Kripashankar Singh own plots in Satpur locality.
