As political parties gear up for elections to nine vacant seats in the Legislative Council eight from local self-governing bodies constituencies including Mumbai and one from Nashik Graduates Constituency the Shiv Sena has nominated Leader of the Opposition in the previous assembly,Ramdas Kadam,as its MLC candidate from Mumbai.
The move to select Kadam from among several contenders in Mumbai is being seen as the partys bid to rehabilitate the leader who was defeated in the recent Assembly polls in Guhagar. The Congress-NCP,meanwhile,reached an understanding on seat sharing for the MLC polls to be held on December 18.
