Two ‘Pujari aides’ open fire in Khar
Two suspected associates of gangster Ravi Pujari opened fire in Khar area on Friday evening. “The incident occurred at a travel agency. Two men gave agency owner Janak a packet with Ravi Pujari’s name written on it and opened fire. No one was hit,” Addl CP (West ) Amitabh Gupta said. The duo fled and a shaken Janak approached Khar police.

Ex-Mayor’s husband acquitted in rape case
The Thane Sessions Court on Thursday acquitted Vishnu Kamble,husband of former Mayor of Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation Nirmale Savale,in a rape case after the prosecution failed to bring in evidence against the accused.

The prosecution case was that Kamble had confined an 18- year-old girl in a room for a week (from Oct 25-Nov 2) in 2007 and raped her.
