AI Dubai flight diverted after technical snag

The Calicut-Dubai Air India flight IC 538 was diverted to Mumbai on Friday after a technical fault. The Airbus A 320 carrying 84 passengers safely landed at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport,where passengers were taken on board another aircraft,which took off at 1.15 pm,an AI spokesperson said. “Full emergency was declared at 11.45 am for flight IC 538 from Calicut to Dubai,which was diverted to Mumbai due to suspected hydraulic failure. The flight landed safely at 12.10 pm. Emergency was withdrawn at 12.17 pm,” said an MIAL spokesperson.

Two of burglars’ gang arrested,35 stolen laptops recovered

The Pant Nagar police have arrested two persons,suspected to be members of a gang of burglars,for allegedly breaking into an electronic goods repair shop and stealing 60 laptops and a projector. “Robbers broke into Vicky Infotech at Garodia Nagar in Ghatkopar and fled with 60 laptops and a projector. On April 27 morning,Kartik Maniyar opened his shop to find the shop ransacked. On a tip-off,we arrested Mohammed Iqbal Sheikh (23) and Nazim Azhar Sheikh (20) and recovered 35 laptops,” said police sub-inspector P Kamble. Police have been granted custody of the duo till June 1 and are looking for two accomplices.
