Sales tax online in two months
The state government will allow e-payment of sales tax in two months,with the department already computerised,CM Ashok Chavan said. The Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime will be implemented from April 2010. The GST will eliminate VAT,entertainment tax and luxury tax.

H1N1 claimed its 31st victim in Mumbai on Friday after a gap of nearly two months. Rehana Mohammed Ismail Sheikh,54,of Mira Road had been admitted to Life Care Hospital on November 3,shifted to Nair Hospital on November 14 and put on a ventilator.

Hi-tech imaging system in Mumbai
The Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Institute has launched an intra-operative magnetic resonance imaging system that will allow surgeons to detect and remove tumours during real-time surgery and help in epilepsy surgery and deep brain stimulation surgery for Parkinson’s disease. The hospital is the first in Asia,and one of 18 worldwide,to get this technology.
